TJ Steinke Plays For The South All-Star Team

TJ Steinke who will play at the University of South Dakota was a member of the Large Schools South All-Star team which defeated the North Team 24-8 in a game played at UW-Oshkosh on Saturday, July 19. The game which benefits the Childrens Hospital of Wisconsin was the 38th Annual All-Star Football Game which is organized by WFCA.

First Team All Big '8'

TJ Steinke a 6' 04, 285 lb lineman was selected as a first team All-Conference Big '8' player. Other Viking players also received All-Conference recognition. Honorable Mention All-Big '8': Mason Blaser, Bryce Hall, Mike Money, Billy Phalin, and Will Theisen and Second Team All Big '8': Nick Garey, Paul Jacobson, Sean Smith, and Daivon Vance-Jenkins. Post Season Awards

Viking football players were recognized at an awards meeting on November 5. Senior Nick Garey was announced as the MVP of the 2013 Parker Football Team. Sean Smith was the Don Barnabo Defensive Award winner. In addition Most Dedicated Players for each grade and varsity team co-captain awards were announced. Go to the 2013 season Awards Feature.

Hard Fought Game Goes
To The Cougars

After a scoreless first quarter the Vikings took an early second quarter lead on a 37 yard field goal by Billy Phalin. Craig then scored on a 34 yard run to make the halftime score 7-3. Neither team scored in the third quarter. Craig scored twice in the fourth quarter as a Viking rally fell short making the final score Craig 20, Parker 10. Fifteen Viking seniors played their last game for Parker.

Four Overtime Thriller
Goes to Vikings

After a 7-7 regulation game tie the JV's from Craig and Parker went to overtime to settle their game. After three overtimes the score was still tied at 14-14. However in the fourth OT the Viking defense held Craig scoreless. Then Viking Michael Marquez kicked a 27 yard FG on a 4th down play from the 9 yard line. The JV's improved to 5-4 on the season. Heavyweights Play
Final Game At Monterey

The Parker ninth grade Heavyweight team ended its season with a Thursday afternoon game at Monterey Stadium against city rival Craig. Craig took an early lead but the young Vikings closed the gap to 30-26 with 5:40 to play in the fourth quarter. Craig held on for the win. The Lightweight team ended its season with a game at Sun Prairie.

Cardinal Win Clinches
Tie For Big '8' Title

The Sun Prairie Cardinals demonstrated why they are the #1 ranked Division 1 team in the State by jumping out to a 35-0 halftime lead in a game played at Monterey Stadium. The win left Sun Prairie with an 8-0 record with one game to play in the conference. Parker now faces city rival Craig at Monterey Stadium in a game at 7:30 PM on Friday, October 18.

Late TD Lifts Viking JV's
Over Sun Prairie

The Parker JV's scored with 39 seconds left in the game to make the score 20-21, Then the two-point conversion gave the Vikings the win and improved their record to 4-4. The Cardinals overecame an early Viking lead before a late drive gave the JV's an exciting win at Monterey Stadium. Parker now prepares for the Craig game which is at 4:30 on October 18.

Viking Freshman Teams
Host Sun Prairie

The Sun Prairie Heavyweight and Lightweight teams traveled to Parker for Thursday afternoon games. The Cardinals won both games which were played on the football fields behind Parker High School. The young Vikings now have only one more game. They will play Janesville Craig on Thursday, October 17, at Parker High School at 4:30 PM.
