Vikings Reclaim The 'Monterey Rock' Trophy

After residing in the Craig Trophy case for the last two years the Monterey Rock returned to Parker when the Vikings beat Craig 21-14. Parker used a ball control offense to control the clock in the second half. Viking quarterback Tyler Teubert [5] and center Tyler Brossard [57] are pictured in second half action.


Adam Vesterfelt a 6' 0, 195 pound sophomore who rushed for 191 yards on 39 carries is pictured following the blocking of Cody Taber [33], Calvin Nauer [88], Hayden Simonis [77], Tyler Kartman [39], and Cody Colson [64].


Receiver Joe Allen [82] is pictured above. Allen had five catches for 43 yards. His 12 yard reception [above right] of a Tyler Teubert pass in the third quarter kept a TD drive alive. Allen also had 14 carries for 52 yards.


Craig's Brett Bates [89] is pictured on a 15 yard pass reception in the third quarter. Parker's Sam Enerson is shown closing on Bates. Above right: Joe Allen returning the second half kickoff .


The Parker offensive line helped the Viking ground game rush for 253 yards on 58 carries.


Parker's Trevor Boyle [70] and Trever Steinke are pictured above in first half action. Craig quarterback Myles Johnson [3] connected on an 8 yard pass to Keegan Kelly [25] while Mike Pregont [72] and David Swanson [78] set up the pocket protection for Johnson.

The Parker team is grateful for the student and adult support at the games. Some of the Parker students are pictured above. Despite a rainy cool night a large crowd turned out for the 43rd game in the Parker - Craig football series.




Football is a game of emotions. Win or lose athletes respond to the high and low emotions of athletic competition.


After two tough losses the Vikings survived a highly competitive game with cross town rival Craig. Joe Allen , M Jay Bouska, and Torrance Anderson are pictured after the game.
