Cardinals Win A Share Of The Big '8' Title

Middleton 27, Parker 6, Wednesday, October 21, 2009 At Otto Brreittenbach Stadium On The Campus Of Middleton HS



Middleton's 27-6 win gave the Cardinals a share of the 2009 Big '8' Championship. Madison Memorial, Middleton, Sun Prairie, and Verona all finished the conference season with 7-2 records. Middleton jumped out to a 10-0 first quarter lead. Parker narrowed that lead to 10-6 on a 39 yard run by Adam Vesterfelt. The Cardinals scored 10 more points in the second quarter to take a 20-6 lead into the halftime break. Second half: The Viking offensive line vs. the Cardinal defensive front

Adam Vesterfelt [20] in second half action. Vesterfelt gained 148 yards in the first half but the Cardinals limited his yardage to 56 yards in the second half. Middleton's David Ripp [23] is shown closing on Vesterfelt. Ripp had a big night on offense for the Cardinals scoring 2 TD's and rushing for 104 yards.
