Rain and mud are nightmare scenarios for football equipment upkeep. The above jersey and pants belong to a player who participated in the Parker - Sun Prairie sophomore football game held on the practice fields at Sun Prairie High School on Friday, September 25, 2009. Parts of the field were a swamp and even the grassy parts were water logged. Mud on uniforms will occur. However the situation can be made worse if players slide in the mud after a game. PARKER PLAYERS WILL NOT SLIDE IN THE MUD Sliding in the mud shows disrespect to the opponent and ruins the playing field. In addition mud will ruin a uniform if it is not properly cared for. The pictures above and to the right are the 'AFTER' pictures when Steps 1-6 were followed. Game uniforms should be cared for immediately after a game. Practice cloth should be laundered at least once a week. Past mistakes that have left uniforms bleached, faded, or almost unusable will not be pictured in order to protect the guilty. |
