Team And Family Members Hold Annual Picnic




Parker players and family members and friends met in the Parker Commons for their annual picnic. Sherry Ward and Tracy Thompson and their committee consisting of Tim and Shelly Blum, Kim Simonosn, Bernadette Pakes, Sharon Treinen, Gary Schultes, Cheryl Beyer, Janice Gajdosik, Misty Thomas, Todd and Karen Phalin, Meg and Dave Bohler, Cindi Seichter, and Kari Titus demonstrated to the freshman, sophomore and varsity football teams how hard work and teamwork can result in a successful event.

Right: A heavy downpour at the start of the picnic had parents and players hustling into the buildng from the parking lot.


Some players approached the school record for the 40 yd dash as they tried to reach the building without getting soaked. One sophomore lineman proved that the pre-season agility drills had value as he delivered a dry plateful of chocolate chip cookies in the downpour.


An overflow crowd filled the large commons area at Parker.


Coach Lynn Weilbrenner [above left] and her cheerleader team helped serve the food at the picnic.

Head Football Coach Joe Dye [right] explained expectations of parents and players for the 2011 season. Sportsmanship was stressed.

Dye also announced award winners for the Super Vike award and the 1000 yard Club.

The Super Vike award is given for a series of physical tests that the players practice for during the summer "JAB's program.

The 1000 yard club consists of players who meet attendance, scholastic, volunteer service, and school citizenship standards. The 1000 yard winners were anounced by class.
