Seniors Announce Plans
For College Competition

Parker seniors Erik Albeck and Brad Money both signed National Letters of Intent to participate in athletics at the college level. The NLI prevents other schools from recruiting athletes who sign a NLI. Albeck will play football at the University of Sioux Falls located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, while Money will run track at Auburn University located in Auburn, Alabama.

Big 8 Conference Statistics
Students Use Strength And Conditioning Room

Parker students can make use of structured workouts in the Parker Strength and Conditioning Room three days a week. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday the room is open before school and after school for students who show up on time and follow the routines led by Parker staff members. This feature shows use of the room in December as the 2011 portion of the school year closes.

Vikings Named To All-
Conference Big '8' Team

Eleven Viking players were named to the All-Conference 2011 Big '8' team. Keven Bell, Tyle Brooks, Matt Pakes, Trever Steinke, and Decker Thompson,were Honorable Mention players. Mitchell Bailey and Erik Albeck were named to the 2nd team while Erik Albeck [DB of the Year], Brad Money, Max Monson, Michael Rainiero, and Adam Vesterfelt were first team selections. More....

Taylor Edwards Named
To All-WIAC Team

Former Viking running back Taylor Edwards who played on Parkers undefeated Big-8 Champion 2006 team was named to the first offensive All-WIAC team as a running back. Edwards has rushed for over 1,000 yards each of the last three years at UW-River Falls. Edwards completed his career at UW-RF as one of the best players in the history of the Falcons program.


Erik Albeck First Team
WIFCA Selection

The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association has announced its All-State selections. Parker senior Erik Albeck was selected as a first team defensive back. Albeck was a multi-purpose player for the Vikings as he was the punter, returned kicks and punts, played as a receiver and back, and played defensive back. Albeck ended the season with 8 intereceptions.

All Players Recognized At
Annual Awards Program

Head Parker Football Coach Joe Dye presided over the annual awards program held in the Parker auditorium on Thursday night, November 3. Players were awarded numerals, certificates, letters, or letter inserts. In addition individual awards were announced. Adam Vesterfelt became the first three time winner of the MVP Award in the 45 year history of Parker Viking Football.

Ben Armer Nominated
For Ray Guy Award

Ben Armer who played on Parkers 2006 undefeated Big 8 Conference Championship team is now a senior and the punter at Western Michigan University. He was nominated by WMU for the Ray Guy Award that recognizes college footballs outstanding punter. Armer has a season best punt of 66 yards and is known for his directional accuracy in placing punts inside the 20 yard line.

Long Time Gazette Sports Editor Set to Retire

Dave Wedeward has spent 46 years as a writer and sports editor sharing his passion for high school athletics. Countless athletes, teams, schools, and sports fans in the southern Wisconsin area have benefited from a first class experience in regards to sports coverage. Wedeward was a sports writer at the Janesville Gazette before he became sports editor for the last 39 years.

Vikings Beat Lancers In
Final Conference Game

The Viking defense played well in the first half and the Parker offense came alive in the second half as the Vikings beat Madison La Follette 42-14 at Monterey Stadium. The win improved Parker's regular season record to 6-3. Adam Vesterfelt set a Janesville city rushing record for a career by gaining 217 yards. This gave him 5,248 yards over three years.
